Island hopping...and sea gypsies

Hello friends,

One of our travel buddies, Joan was kind enough to charter a private boat for the day for us so we can island hop to the non-touristy areas.

We used a company named River Rovers.  Captain Gordon, the owner, set sail for a trip that we would never forget. My friend found him on trip advisor and his reviews spoke for themselves.

He first took us to where the sea gypsies lived.  This group of people actually live on the water, fish and separate their catch according to species and then take them to the market.

This is their house which is on the water in the middle of the river.

We picked out our lobsters right out of the water and the private cook prepared them for us.  You couldn't get any fresher or larger than the ones we ate.  She prepared a feast for us with a variety of other thai dishes and fish with sauteed vegetables, garlic and ginger.  This was one of the best meals I have had since I had been in Thailand.  The cook whipped it up with only two small burners on the boat in less than an hour.

More monkeys....

Chilling out on another island before heading back home.
