Over eight thousand were affected here -- 8,457 were injured and 2,995 went missing in the giant wave disaster.

Following a report on tsunami victim autopsies and identifications, the dead were 1,899 Thais, 1,953 foreigners and 1,543 persons who remain unidentified their nationalities.
