Brisbane Food with my new CouchSurfing host...

Hello friends,

Part of traveling is being able to adjust your itinerary and just go with the flow.  Since the flooding and the cyclones in Brisbane, I decided not to go up north to the Great Barrier Reef and it hasn't stopped raining since I got here.

My CouchSurfing host wanted to take me to his favorite dessert place!!  This was pure ecstasy swimming in caramel sauce!  Whoa!

The Treasury Casino and Hotel
This is one of the oldest and most popular watering hole in Queensland

Picking out our steak for dinner.  My host, Chad said that I have to have a steak in Australia!  Australia is the 2nd largest producer of beef in the whole world.

I had the Australian Beef Ragyu Striploin with pepper sauce and a baked potato with bacon sauce.

Chad took me for the most amazing gelato place for dessert!

We shared this nutty caramel gelato.  It had 3 different kinds of gelato: hazelnut, chocolate and milany gelato and sprinkled with roasted hazelnuts, almonds, whipped cream and caramel topping.

My CouchSurfing host Panche was kind enough to show me different parts of Brisbane.

View of Brisbane from Kangaroo Point!  Gorgeous!

I rode the City Cat Ferry.  It's a common mode of transportation to get around the city.

I fell in love with this interchangeable dress!

I love this store!!  This is an Asian designer who had a beautiful boutique with interesting clothing pieces.

I surfed Chad's couch for 3 days after leaving Panche's house.  I had no idea what would be in store for me while I stayed with him.  After reading his profile, I knew he was a foodie but Chad took me to some of the best eateries in Brisbane.
