Seoul, Korea: November 19, 2010

Highlights:
flew on Singapore Airlines:  Super nice, spacious, comfortable with tvs on chair and tons of movie channels and cable shows.

staying at Art Nouveau City II Hotel:  I highly recommend this hotel.  It is like a mini apt. with stove, fridge, washer, dryer, clean and high end.  It's located in the Yeongdong area.  This place reminded me of the Ritz Carlton.  All of the decor in the rooms are filled with beveled mirrors, crystal chandeliers ornate gold trimmed doors, etched glass and gold embossed wallpaper!  Luxury and very classy!  I loved this hotel soooo much that we booked a second night!  My friend Elaine wanted to say at a cheap, "love hotel" for $50 a night to save some money!  I just couldn't do it!!  She then told me she was so happy we stayed.  I've stayed at a lot of hotels but this place really pays attention to detail, charm and luxury

I met with my friend Elaine who has been teaching in Pyeongtaek for about 3 months now.  It was soooo good to see her.

My final luggage that I brought were two check ins at 43 and 53 pounds and a backpack!!  I can unload about 15 pounds of it in Korea since I brought gifts for my friend.  Half of it was all of my deet, mosquito net and toiletries that will get used up.  I already got bit a ton from bed bugs.  It doesn't matter how nice the hotel.  You just never know.

We went to NB (Noise Basement) in Gangnam.  (It reminded me of Crobar back in Chicago).  It was packed with Koreans and a few tourists.  They played hip hop and electronic music.  One thing I have noticed is that the girls danced mainly on the side while most of the guys danced together in the center.

I discovered Mr. Kebab!  It was a cheap turkish dive where we ordered a lamb and chicken wrap with drinks for under $12,000 won (under $11 US)  Delicious and cheap!  The employees spoke arabic, english and korean!!

Fashion:  I would say about 90% of the Korean women have bangs with their haircut including my friend Elaine.  :)

Women where super, hoochie short skirts!  Not much exposure on the top portions but definitely all leg and backsides are exposed!

  1. Okay, it's 2:30 in the morning here in chicago and I can't sleep. First off, I am glad you made it there safely! Second, Miss Elaine looks fabulous! I can see the weight loss (not that she really needed to lose anything.) Tell her I said "She's so porn right now!" I am glad that you too are having a great time out there.... Miss ya guys.

P.S. get you a vial of bed bug oil or spray and put that all over yourself. Beg bugs aren't sexy girl!
